Hi friends! Join me for a Friday Silly Goose adventure, my friend Morgan and I started referring to Friday’s as Silly Goose Friday’s about a year ago, as full time business owners - this is our day to just be. As a dedicated thrifter, Fridays are my absolute favorite. After my morning pottery class, I make it a ritual to swing by my favorite thrift and vintage store. Armed with my signature Dilly Dally + Thrift tote bag, I'm ready to unearth some hidden gems and timeless treasures.

My thrifting ritual usually begins with a quick scan of the store, keeping an eye out for anything that catches my fancy. But if nothing jumps out at me, I meticulously work my way through each aisle and rack, leaving no stone unturned. Home decor, art pieces, and dinnerware are always my first ports of call because, let's face it, a thrifted statement piece can breathe new life into any space.

While my initial focus was on home items and decor, I've gradually expanded my horizons to include accessories and clothing. As someone who embraces a larger curvy body, finding quality pieces can sometimes be a challenge, but it's all part of the adventure. I prioritize items made from organic materials and seek out vintage brands known for their superior craftsmanship.

Of course, there are certain items I tend to steer clear of, such as anything that can't be easily cleaned or sterilized. Hygiene is paramount in the world of thrifting, so I avoid plastic items and anything that could pose a potential health risk.

But here's the twist: not every thrift store visit ends with a purchase. Over the past year, I've become increasingly mindful of the impact of our consumer habits and the importance of conscious consumption. Even if an item is heavily discounted, I always ask myself if it aligns with my values and if it truly adds value to my life.
